Evaluating benefits

The CRR has a wide range of tools for evaluating the social, economic and environmental benefits of remanufacturing and reuse.

Modelling Data

We have an extensive knowledge base on remanufacturing gathered through the research conducted since the centre began in 2007.

This knowledge base gives our remanufacturing experts a wealth of knowledge on the benefits arising from remanufacturing activities in different sectors.

Existing Knowledge

The CRR has experience in using a range of modelling techniques to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental benefits of remanufacturing and reuse.

These include:

  • Established modelling techniques, such as life cycle analysis, carbon footprinting and mass flow analysis

  • Scenario analysis

  • Bespoke modelling approaches for specific datasets or research questions

Surveying Stakeholders

We have experience in using both remote and on-site surveying techniques to collect both quantitative and qualitative information on the benefits of remanufacturing from different stakeholders.

Collecting primary data is often a key component of any remanufacturing analysis, due to the lack of officially collected statistics on the industry’s activities.
